24 – 27 mar | led by sona + Prakashamitra
Turn the March Sub30 weekend into a 6-day retreat by staying on to study a foundational Buddhist text with experienced study leaders, in a seminar-style setting of 6-12 people.
Sona will lead this event as an exploration of Padmasambhava – the Tantric Guru, the alchemical mystery he embodies that is at the heart of spiritual transformation and this influence on Sangharakshita and Triratna.
Sona’s name means ‘gold’ and he has spent the 50 years of his Order life engaging with the profound mystery of transforming base energies into the gold of an enlightening mind. His root sadhana is Padmasambhava and he will share what he has learned about this kind of alchemical transformation and what he has learned from Sangharakshita who also deeply embodied this kind of alchemy in his life and teachings.
It is through dharma study that we can enter into dialogue with the enlightened mind. Come along to feel your own experience come into relationship with the experience of awakening that the Buddhist tradition has handed down to us for over 2500 years.
Reception is from 4pm on the day of arrival, with the retreat beginning with supper at 6pm.
While you’re here you will be participating in communal life. This includes meditating with everyone on site in the main shrine room in the morning, taking part in daily tasks and at the end of your retreat you will help us to prepare the retreat centre for the next group to join us.
With this in mind, the retreat will finish after the clear-up, so if travelling on public transport, please book a train after 3pm.
