Sub30 Weekend | How to Live before you Die

22 – 24 mar | led by Prajnahridaya + Caroline

THE FOUR REMINDERS

This human birth is precious,
An opportunity to awaken,
But this body is impermanent;
Ready or not, one day I shall die.

So this life I must know
As the tiny splash of a raindrop,
A thing of beauty that disappears
Even as it comes into being.

The karma I create
Shapes the course of my life,
But however I act
Life always has difficulties;
No-one can control it all.

Only the Dharma
Can free me and others
From suffering forever.

Therefore I recall
My heart’s longing for freedom,
And resolve to make use
Of every day and night
To realise it.

Death is certain. Only the timing of it is unknown. How do we live our best life, knowing it will end?

How do we find meaning, purpose and community in our modern world with its many flaws?

Drawing on an adapted version of Tsongkapa’s poem, this weekend offers a reminder of the invaluable opportunity we have to live a meaningful life. What holds us back, and what can we do to set ourselves free?

Come and get a taste of the Buddhist vision for life on this weekend retreat for anyone aged 18-30 – it doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to meditation and Buddhism, or have lots of experience.
