Men's Area Order Weekend

Led by Public Preceptors

He who sees pratitya samutpada sees the Dharma. He who sees the Dharma sees the Buddha.

Pratitya-samutpada is the all-inclusive doctrine underpinning all genuinely Buddhist practice: All things arise in dependence on conditions and cease when those conditions no longer obtain. This insight into the nature of things, and the reactive and creative trends within it, come directly from the Buddha and are central to the whole Buddhist tradition. Cyclical conditionality is described by the twelve cyclical Nidanas, whilst the progressive trend gives us a practical, step by step map of how our experience can unfold into higher states of consciousness and being, towards Buddhahood itself.

On this Area Order Weekend we will explore the Buddha’s fundamental vision of Pratitya-samutpada. Padmavajra and Dhammarati will give talks and lead meditations exploring this theme in depth.
