Men's Area Order weekend : A mysterious, indefinable Spirit

Led by Public Preceptors

No Single rooms available 1/11/22

…There is something about the movement, the Order and even about me that is not easily definable. There is a touch of something that cannot be buttoned down, something that cannot in the end be defined. Even the desire to button it down or define it is a mistake … Everyone will need to take care of that rather mysterious, indefinable spirit that gives the movement life and energy.
Sangharakshita, What is the Western Buddhist Order

Our November Order weekend begins just a few days after the fourth anniversary of Bhante’s death. On this weekend, we’ll evoke and explore that ‘mysterious, indefinable spirit’ that animated Bhante’s teaching, the Order and Movement, and that’s ours now to take care of.

The weekend will include talks by Subhuti and Vishvapani; study led by members of the Adhisthana Teaching Community on key texts written by or studied by Bhante; meditation, and a Puja dedicated to Bhante and led by Padmavajra.

Reception is from 4pm on the day of arrival, with the retreat beginning with supper at 6pm.

The retreat will finish in the morning after the clear-up. If traveling on public transport, please book a train after 3pm.
