Sub25 Retreat: Wild Buddha

Led by Akasajoti, Amalasiddhi + Aryadasa

Wild Buddha: The 4th annual Sub25 weekend retreat

Over two thousand years ago a young man in search of ideals worth living by went forth from conventional society and woke up to a vision of truth. What does it mean for us, in 2018, to go forth and follow the way of the Buddha, on a radical path of freedom? How do we cultivate a whole-hearted, full-blooded engagement of all of our energy in our practice of ethics, meditation and wisdom?

A weekend retreat for all those aged 16-25, those new to Buddhism and Meditation and for those wanting to go deeper.

Please inform us when booking if you're under 18.

A retreat is a chance to get away from the noise and complexity of modern life in order to deepen your experience of yourself and of the world around you. There will be periods of meditation, talks on aspects of Buddhism, as well as Buddhist rituals. There will be small groups led by a team member in which you can share your experience of the retreat. Although this is a Buddhist retreat, you don’t need to be a Buddhist to participate.

Below is an outline of the programme that our retreats follow. Please bear in mind it  vary, but will follow this rough structure:

10am Talk followed by Discussion Groups

1pm Lunch (followed by free time)

The team leading the retreat are volunteers who are on retreat as well. Part of the retreat is helping out with simple chores. Our retreats are known for being friendly and harmonious; we ask retreatants to cooperate with each other and to refrain from harsh speech or anti-social behaviour.

Camping
It’s possible to camp in our beautiful field - make a note on the booking form if you’d like a camping place, and bring your own tent and camping equipment.

Diet
The food on the retreat will be vegan - this is part of the Buddhist commitment to non-violence. We will not be able to cater for restricted diets unless for medical reasons. If you do need a restricted diet for medical reasons then we need to be notified when you book and at least one week before the retreat starts, please email admin@adhisthana.org.
