Ratnagunasamcayagatha | Seminar Retreat

12 – 19 September | led by Mahamati + Prajnanita

We accept ordination for the benefit of all beings, but what is a Bodhisattva? How do they behave, practise, live? This is the single subject of the Ratnagunasamcayagatha.

Through Sangharakshita’s commentary, discover how to live out one of his most brilliant teachings, The Greater Mandala of Aesthetic Appreciation.

Mahamati attended Bhante’s seminar and received the Manjughosha stuti-sadhana from him in 1977. Taste the mind’s boundless nature through this practice, ritual recitation of the text and devotional enactment of wisdom teachings.

Mahamati

Mahamati is the incoming Chair of the College of Public Preceptors and has worked along side Bhante for years. He was based in India for seven years as a result of being Director of Karuna Trust charity. He also works closely with the Urgyen Sangharakshita Trust, the body dedicated to preserving Sangharakshita’s legacy. He lives locally to Adhisthana.

Prajnanita

Prajnanita originates from Czechia and worked as a teacher in London before joining the West London Buddhist centre covering a range of roles. She has brought her skills to being Director of Adhisthana and participation in the Dharma Team.

Seminar Retreats offer an intimate setting to look in-depth at Bhante’s exposition of key texts, bring us closer to the mind behind the teaching, and understand their relevance to our lives and practice. Places are very limited so book early.

Reception is from 4pm on the day of arrival, with the retreat beginning with supper at 6pm.

While you’re here you will be participating in communal life. This includes meditating with everyone on site in the main shrine room in the morning, taking part in daily tasks and at the end of your retreat you will help us to prepare the retreat centre for the next group to join us.

With this in mind, the retreat will finish after the clear-up, so if traveling on public transport, please book a train after 11am.
