Alchemy in William Blake – and Beyond

Blake is an early and central influence in Sangharakshita’s life and presentation of the Dharma. Building on the previous four ‘Blake retreats’, the team, will this year explore the significance of alchemy and its symbols – both in and for Blake and for our own spiritual lives.

In ‘Blake and Antiquity’ Kathleen Raine says: ‘The marriage of Heaven and Hell, often said to contain Blake’s most original thought, is in truth an impassioned re-statement of the philosophy of Alchemy.’”

As in previous years, presentations and input on the theme will lead into spacious time for personal exploration of the theme through artwork, writing, communication, meditation and ritual.

All welcome, no previous experience/knowledge of Blake required.

The event will start with dinner at 6pm. Please arrive on site between 4-6pm.

The retreat will finish with a clear up on the last day, so please don't book public transport home until after 11am.
