Men's Area Order Weekend | The Holy Teachings of Vimalakirti

Led by Public Preceptors

Not the domain of the worldly and not the domain of the saint, such is the domain of the bodhisattva. - Vimalakirti

On this Area Order Weekend, led by the Padmaloka Kula of the Preceptors College, we’ll focus on the Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra, especially as understood and explored by Bhante Sangharakshita. Padmavajra and Maitreyabandhu will be giving talks, there’ll be discussion groups, and Paramabandhu will lead the Manjughosa Sadhana.

They will also be an optional cultural event on Saturday afternoon on Wallace Stevens and Richard Wilbur called 'Visions of Transcendence'. Our intention for the weekend is to focus on what Subhuti has called ‘neat dharma’ – neat in the sense of whiskey, the pure dharma, especially as focussed and interpreted by Bhante. They’ll also be a special puja to commemorate Bhante’s death.

Reception is from 4pm on the day of arrival, with the retreat beginning with supper at 6pm.

The retreat will finish in the afternoon after the clear-up. If traveling on public transport, please book a train after 3pm.
