Contemplating the Six Bardos

On this weekend, which comes just after the third anniversary of Bhante’s death, we will be exploring the Contemplation of the Six Bardos from the Bardo Thodol. We will look closely at each verse and especially at the three bardos connected with death. We’ll explore the text through presentations by Subhuti, who attended Bhante’s seminar on this important text; in group discussion; and by practicing together the Contemplation of the Six Bardos, one of the main vipasyana practices recommended by Bhante.

On Saturday evening, we’ll bring to mind Bhante, and our appreciation of him, with short talks by three Order Members on 'What Bhante Means to Me'.

The retreat will start with dinner at 18:00 and you are welcome to arrive on site after 16:00. The event will finish after clear up on Sunday after lunch. Please stay to help with the clear up, and book onward travel from 2.26pm on Sunday.

There’s a Colwall to Birmingham train @ 2.26pm, and a Colwall to Hereford train at 3.08 pm, (the Hereford timetable is still to be confirmed). The clear up will finish in time to catch those trains.

For weekend events full payment is required at booking, which includes a £56 non-refundable deposit.
