The recent Order weekend in celebration of Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday was a great success – thank you all who came and participated and helped to create such a wonderful gathering. It has had a deeply positive effect on Adhisthana and on all of us here, and is an example of the magic of gathering together in large numbers as a spiritual community. We’re already looking forward to hosting many more large gatherings into the future! You can see posts, talks and photos here and an article on Triratna News, here.
At the heart of the weekend was an exhibition celebrating Bhante’s life: “Nine Decades”. Bhante chose objects from each decade of his life, and a series of interviews were recorded between him and Saddhanandi, taking the objects as a focus to to talk about his ninety years. Candradasa has created an online version of the exhibition, including all the recordings of the interviews with Bhante as well as photos of his life and the objects on The Buddhist Centre, which you can see here.
A Moseley Miscellany, Bhante’s latest book, was launched on the weekend and his birthday gift was presented to him, a cheque for £110,000 for his Complete Works, which you can still donate on this Just Giving page. You can see some beautiful photos of the presentation, taken by Mahasiddhi, here.
