Grounded and Equanimous in the face of the Worldly Winds - retreat for groups local to Adhisthana
Led by Alexandra, Matthew, Sanghadeva and Shubhavyuha
"Monks, these eight worldly conditions spin after the world, and the world spins after these eight worldly conditions. Which eight? Gain, loss, status, disgrace, censure, praise, pleasure, & pain." - Lokavipatti Sutta
The eight worldly conditions, or worldly winds affect us all. We will be looking at how Buddhist practice can help us when these 4 pairs of opposites arise in our lives.
This retreat is a chance to take friendship, meditation, and study deeper; in the beautiful conditions and surroundings of Adhisthana.
This residential weekend will start with dinner at 18:00 and conclude with a communal clear-up on Sunday at 14:30, in between we will have many opportunities to connect with each other through shared practice, collective meals and relaxing together around the wonderful site.
This is a real chance to develop a more substantial meditation practice in the supportive environment of Adhisthana, with a shield from the worldly distractions such as social media, work concerns, or the internet and all its related devices!
