Dasadhamma Sutta | Over 65’s Retreat

12 – 17 OCT | Led by SaddhaLOKA, mahashraddha + team

The Order’s largest age demographic is now 60 and over, and we are increasingly witnessing aging and sickness. Just as Siddhartha sought solutions to these life stages, we too may feel an urgency to deepen our practice. But how do we maintain an effective dharma life as we age and face physical and mental decline? How do we continue contributing to the Sangha and the Order/Movement?

These questions will be the focus of a retreat initiated by the Abhayaratna Trust in collaboration with Adhisthana, exclusively for Order members aged
65 and over. This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore dharma practice amidst the challenges of aging. As a focus for study and discussion we will be using a rendering of the Dasadhamma Sutta from the Anguttara Nikaya, where the Buddha offers ten reflections on what it means to live an effective and deepening life in the Dharma.

The retreat, led by experienced Dharmacharis and Dharmacharinis, will be in-person and online. Early booking for in-person places is essential
due to limited availability. If finances are a concern and you would like to come on the residential retreat, you may be eligible for a hardship grant from the Abhayaratna Trust. Please contact them directly. If you’re intending to attend online but would need a bursary in order to be able to do so, please write to Adhisthana.
