Sangharakshita Study Course

People have to try to see the development of my thought, to the extent there is development, as a totality over the whole period of my teaching life. And it is not just a question of being aware of that development of thought, but of recognising that I have addressed different situations and contexts and different audiences in different terms.

— Sangharakshita, ‘What is the Western Buddhist Order?’

The Sangharakshita Study Course offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the vision of Urgyen Sangharakshita, in its full depth and breadth, as it unfolded through the nine decades of his life. Over the three years of the course, we will survey his entire creative output in chronological order, tracing its development through his deepening spiritual understanding and the changing external conditions in which he was communicating. Through extensive reading and a series of seminars, you will be guided by senior and experienced teachers into a deep engagement with both his spoken and his written teachings, encountering not only the great scope of his thought, but the living spirit behind it.
