Overflowing Wisdom and Compassion | Amitabha Sadhana Retreat

2 – 9 July | Led by Paramartha, Punyamala, Vidyamala + team

Come and partake in our biennial Amitabha sadhana retreat, gathering with other devotees (whether it is your sadhana or not) to dwell with Amitabha. These wondrous conditions help us call forth our love, faith, and devotion, and allow the gentle, loving rays of Amitabha’s light to transform us as we enter more fully into the realm of Sukhavati and draw closer to his presence.

This well-established retreat creates excellent conditions for Amitabha devotees to dwell with his qualities and to explore and deepen their experience of the Amitabha sadhana, which comes directly from Sangharakshita’s profound vision in the Virupaksha cave in 1948. Through meditation, ritual and shared practice, connect with your faculty for transcendence by evoking the beautiful form and qualities of Amitabha.

Whatever your level of experience, you are warmly invited to join us for a week contemplating this deepest of mysteries during which Amitabha’s boundless light and love can tangibly pour forth into the world for the benefit of all beings.

Reception is from 4pm on the day of arrival, with the retreat beginning with supper at 6pm.

While you’re here, you will be participating in communal life. This includes meditating with everyone on site in the main shrine room in the morning, taking part in daily tasks and at the end of your retreat you will help us to prepare the retreat centre for the next group to join us.

With this in mind, the retreat will finish after the clear-up, so if travelling on public transport, please book a train after 11am.

Please note that the single rooms have been fully booked. If you require a single room, please contact the office to be added to the waiting list.
