Karma: The Pathway to Freedom | Summer Sanghas

3 – 10 September | Led by Ratnaghosha, Vimalachitta + team

The key word for a Buddhist is ‘training’ (sikkha in Pali). We train ourselves to become new individuals who can have a positive influence in the world. We do this by living ethically and allowing the law of karma to work through us.

On this retreat Ratnaghosha and Vimalachitta will be leading us in a practical and reflective exploration of the power of Buddhist ethical training. Ultimately, this training is a way of liberating us from the chains of our negative mental states and allowing us to live happier lives full of meaning and purpose that have a beneficial effect on the world around us too.

As Bhante Sangharakshita says in his book, Living Ethically: “The worldly-minded person asks, usually unconsciously. ‘What will make me happy?’ The spiritually-minded person on the other hand asks, consciously, ‘How can I become free?’ Happiness is a by-product of the quest for freedom.”

Join these two very experienced Order members for an inspiring, helpful and challenging week, in an atmosphere of friendliness and kindness. This is an opportunity to deepen your understanding and practice of the Dharma, in the quest for true freedom.
