Six Elements

Led by Manjuvajra + Bodhiketu

A longer meditation retreat, partly in silence, utilising the local landscape - a perfect location for the six elements practice, the Order’s recommended method for cultivating insight.

We'll begin by exploring the practice as Sangharakshita originally taught. Evoked as external sense experiences, the elements are also recognised internally, with the knowledge that that at death these will again become part of the elements outside. This reflection begins to dissolve the natural, but emotionally obscuring, sense of ownership and identification. As the retreat continues we’ll include alternative ways to help bring the practice alive.

Kamalashila who was originally going to lead the retreat had to cancel due to ill health. The retreat will now be led by Manjuvajra and Bodhiketu .
